I figured I would post there differences I hear in the versions of the Feeler recordings compared to the original recordings.
I'm typing this as I'm listening to it for the 1st time.
Spoiler Alert if you would rather wait and hear this stuff for yourself
TRUST GAME: Lyrics on the second verse to bridge have been changed completely. The chords to the bridge are different although the rhythm is the same.
WATERFALL: Same arrangement as the HB/SA b-side. so good.
DEAD BOY: Nothing changed here.. just sounds a lot better.
CITY OF HATE: you've heard this one. This used to be my least fav Toadies song. This version is one million times better.
MINE: same arrangement.. but a much better recording. everything stands out on this song much better in this version.
SUCK MAGIC: The song I am mos excited to hear. New chorus: "now you've gone too far, you suck away the magic. And I see what you are, (can't understand it) tragic" YOU GOT WHAT I WANT. YOU SUCK MAGIC. AWE-SOME version.
ATF: you've heard this one.
JOEY LETS GO: same arrangement as the HB/SA b-side. This version is so much better than the original Feeler version, but you already know that..
PINK: Clark's favorite Toadies song finally gets a perfect version. Same arrangement as the original, but like everything else on the album, it sounds a hell of a lot better. The ending is slightly different with Todd sings "it's easy" much higher and scales down. Love it.
Overall the record sounds incredible. Rob Schnapf did an excellent job with these songs, I'm really glad they had him produce and mix this album. He completely Toadies sound. And to be honest,I was just as disappointed in the track listing as a lot of you were, but the way that these are recorded makes this a really solid Toadies album. I prefer this much more than No Deliverance. I gotta say that I prefer every version of these songs over the original Feeler versions. No contest. Great job guys!
